This is being touted at a possible Super Bowl preview! It is partly because both teams are undefeated (uh…so are the Colts?) and partly because both have dynamite offenses and fine defense. And, of course, one is in the AFC and the other in the NFC—so it is a great selling point. Continue reading “New England Visits Dallas”

Man, one bird can sure change the football season, can’t it? Just ask the USC Trojans’ fans, coach Pete Carroll and star QB John David Booty. Booty threw four interceptions, while Stanford’s sophomore QB Tavita Prichard converted a fourth and 20 in his final drive, which ultimately resulted in the game-winning 10-yard TD pass with 49 seconds left. It was Prichard’s first college start ever. Continue reading “CFB- Trojans Fall to Stanford”
The Chicago Bears are in trouble. At 1 -2, they are reeling, having lost to San Diego 14- 3 and the Cowboys 34- 10. In between those two games, Chicago beat the Chiefs by a score of 20- 10. It was in that game that Grossman threw his one TD pass of this young season. He also tossed two interceptions that day. He threw one giveaway in his first game versus the Chargers and three in his last against Dallas. Continue reading “NFL- Chicago Can’t Bear Grossman”

So needless to say, coaches are very busy making decisions and for the staff of the Kansas City Chiefs it was a big one—who will man the QB spot?
I don’t respect what Michael Vick did in terms of the treatment of animals. If you love dogs, any animals or have any compassion for life, it’s tough to feel much more than disgust for the guy. And, quite honestly, the guy has never been my favorite QB. Sometimes brilliant and other times simply unpredictable and quirky, Vick could lose a game as quickly as he could win one. There’s more bad news for the Colts. First there was the release of DT Corey Smith. Smith came to the Colts in 2005 after playing six seasons with the Eagles. In 13 games with Indy, he had 35 tackles, 26 solo and no sacks. Near the end of the 2005 season, he suffered a knee injury. Continue reading “NFL- Colts Smith Let Go and McFarland Tackled by Injury”
