NC State has found itself unable to build on the momentum of last year, which featured an upset of the Florida State Seminoles. The Wolfpack lost 49-17 to FSU this season, just one of its four consecutive losses. The team is just not that great offensively, able to muster only 23 points per game and just 14.8 per game over the last four games.

Pete Thomas has a good competition ratio (60.8 percent) but has thrown over twice as many interceptions (8) as touchdowns (3). Shadrach Thornton has rushed for 447 yards on 90 carries, but reached the end zone just four times.

Jela Duncan and Josh Snead have both done well in the backfield for Duke, as well, with 5.2 and 5.9 yard per carry averages, respectively.
