Arizona State enters riding a four-game win streak that has seen it defeat Washington, UCLA, USC, and Stanford to improve to 7-4 in Conference play after beginning just 3-4 through its first seven. The Sound Devils trail No. 1 Pac-12 team Colorado by just one game, with Oregon and Arizona, packed between and trailing Colorado by just 1/2 a game. The Pac-12 is a tight race this year.

The Sun Devils are led by guard Remy Martin. Martin averages 19.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game while playing a team-high 33.5 minutes per game. Alonzo Verge Jr joins him in the backcourt as the No. 2 scorer at 13.6 points per game, while Rob Edwards and Romello White each add 10 points per game, as well. Arizona State averages 73.3 points per game as a team while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three. The California Golden Bears are 10-14 and in 9th place in the Pac-12. It enters riding a three-game losing streak as it has fallen to Colorado, Utah, and Arizona since its 69-67 victory over Oregon State. The Bears are just 4-7 in Pac-12 play and are four games behind Colorado, tied with Oregon State and Washington State. Cal averages just 62.2 points per game and it gives up just under 68, giving it a negative point differential of -5.8 points. The Bears only assist nine field goals per game and also struggle on the boards. There are too many fatal flaws in this team for it to be much of a threat without some major improvements.

Matt Bradley is the leading scorer at 17.7 points per game, but he has very little help: No one else scores in double figures. Bradley is also No. 2 in rebounding but averages just 5.2 boards per game. The Bears lack depth, and Bradley is shooting the ball great, but it just is not enough, even at 44/85/36 clips.
