The Rams have won its past two contests with victories over the Jacksonville Jaguars and most recently last week’s 33-0 triumph over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals managed just 25 rushing yards and 171 passing yards in the game, while L.A. nuts getting 235 yards and a TD from Jared Goff and 106 yards from Todd Gurley, who scored one of the Rams’ two rushing TDs in the game.
Gurley also caught four passes for 48 yards, ranking No. 3 in reception yardage for the week behind Cooper Kupp (51 yards) and Robert Woods (59 yards). The Rams defense had four tackles for loss and three sacks, led by John Johnson III’s five tackles (4 solo) and Trumaine Johnson’s five tackles (3 solo). The Rams forced two interceptions and a fumble, while consistently posing threats at all positions to a struggling Arizona offense. The Rams led 23-0 at the half and proceeded to score the game’s final 10 points over the final two quarters.

Gurley has been strong the past five weeks for Los Angeles, having rushed for 100 yards or more in four of those five contests. In addition, he had a 121 rushing yard and 94-yard passing performance in a 35-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 1. Gurley rushed for 1,106 yards as a rookie, but that year he had only 188 receiving yards. This season he is on pace for over 1,400 rushing yards and another 700 or so via the pass.
Gurley’s dual-threat nature has made him the key to the Rams offense since coming out of Georgia as a No. 10 overall pick in 2015. Many criticized L.A. for taking a backfield performer that high, but Gurley has lived up to all of the expectations, most especially because of this functionality as a wideout.
The Giants are just 1-6 on the season, and New York lost again last week 24-7 to the Seattle Seahawks. The Giants’ lone win came two weeks ago in a 23-10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Center Weston Richburg is on the IR with a concussion, and his loss is huge for the Giants. Brett Jones slides over as the full-time starter at center, and the Giants moved Tim Scott from the practice squad to add depth at cornerback with the loss of Richburg.
Eli Manning’s decline has had plenty to do with the Giants’ fall, though. Manning has thrown for 1,600 yards this season but is averaging just 6.15 yards per attempt and he has five interceptions and five fumbles on the year. His 10 TD passes are not enough, and his passer rating is just 86.1. Manning has thrown for an average of 131 yards per game over the past two games, and over that span, he has completed just 57.9 and 48.7 percent of his passes in each game. Manning is still projected to amass 3,657 but the Giants have to be concerned about the 36-year-old.
The Giants rank No. 20 in passing yardage (213.1 yards per game) and are not good via the rush either (83.3 yards, No. 27). The team has a middle-of-pack defense (22.3 points allowed per game, No. 17) and one of the worst overall offenses, scoring just 15.7 points per game and ranking third-to-last in the NFL.
