The Jets got risky last week with a fake punt, but Brant Boyer ultimately felt the (successful) punt was still not properly executed given the delay of game on the ensuing FG attempt. Boyer said the delay was due to over celebrating the fake, and then struggling to get the FG crew onto the field in time. They ultimately missed the field goals from 45-yards. Chandler Catanzaro hit a 41-yard field goal with 28-seconds remaining in OT as the Jets escaped with the 23-20 victory.
Josh McCown was 22 of 31 for 224 yards, but threw an interception and was sacked five times (!) for a loss of 40 yards. The Jets did have success rushing the football, as Bilal Powell carried 21 times for 163 yards with a 75-yard long-run and a TD. Elijah McGuire had 93 yards on 10 carries with a TD and a 69-yard run. New York had 471 total yards of offense, and five receivers finished with 30 yards or more. New York also held Blake Bortles to 15 of 35 passing with an interception and passer rating of just 52.1. The Jets rank No. 21 in points allowed (23.0), and have the No. 7 best pass defense in the NFL, allowing just 195 yards per game. The Jets secondary has been great, allowing only 58.8 percent of passes to be completed.

The Jets do not put a lot of pressure on QBs, though, ranking No. 30 in the NFL with only six total sacks on the season. Matt Forte is still out with turf toe, so Powell will see plenty of carries again this week. He and McGuire can really carry the Jets, and New York has won the past four meetings between these teams. Last year, the Jets won on the road by a 31-28 score as McCown started for the Browns. McCown was limited in practice with a shoulder injury.
The Browns are 2-29 dating back to the 2015 season, but with even-odds, this week is about as promising as it gets for a team that is simply never favored.
Cleveland went 1-15 last season, and McCown was 1-10 as a starter for Cleveland already, a washed up journeyman who simply fills his role on a poor football team. He has 473 yards over the past two weeks, but DeShone Kiser has been disappointing, too. Kiser has won just four of his past 16 starts at quarterback, dating back to Notre Dame starts, and he has failed to complete 50 percent of his passes in three of his past eight games.
On the season, he has only three TDs and eight picks. The Browns also lack depth at WR due to injuries, while Hue Jackson already said he would have benched Kenny Britt if he had adequately healthy options to fill in. Overall, Cleveland is just a disaster any way this is diced, and will likely miss out on victory in what should be a winnable football game for them this week.
