Minnesota’s Week 5 win over Houston came in convincing 31-13 fashion. Sam Bradford had an outstanding game in passing 22 of 30 for completion en route to 271 yards and two TDs (no interceptions and two sacks for 16 yards loss). Wide receiver Adam Thielen had a big game with 127 yards, catching seven of eight targeted to him including a TD pass.

Cordarrelle Patterson had four catches for 39 yards and a TD, and Matt Asiata had three catches for 46 yards as the team averaged 12.3 yards per attempt on its 22 catches. Asiata also had some success in rushing the ball 55 yards on 14 attempts (3.9 yards per), though the Vikings totaled just 96 rushing yards in the lopsided win.

Bradford has been a pleasant surprise for the Vikings, who have surprised in their own right. He has thrown for 990 yards on 70.4 percent completion ratio with six TDs and not a single interception yet this season. His passer rating of 109.8 is considerably higher than most felt the career backup would be capable of. Thielen is second on the team in yardage this season with 272, and Stefon Diggs leads the team with 25 catches for 372 yards and a TD, including five plays for 20 yards or more this season. Kyle Rudolph leads the team in reception TDs with three and the Vikings have caught six TD passes on the season while having given up four defensively.

Rushing has been a problem as expected without Adrian Peterson or a healthy Bridgewater, but the Vikings have simply changed their approach and went air-heavy this season. It has worked thus far, but this week will be a closely contested battle with Philly.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-2 but 2-0 at home this season. They are coming off back-to-back road losses to Detroit and Washington, but last defeated Pittsburgh 34-3 in Philadelphia. Week 1 was a 29-10 home win over the Browns.

Carson Wentz has thrown for 1,186 yards at a 65 percent clip while having thrown seven TD passes and one interception. He has been sacked 12 times, however, and his passer rating is just under 100. The Eagles have not been overly successful rushing the football, with Ryan Mathews leading the team with 206 yards and a 3.9 yard per carry average. He has rushed for three of the team’s five rushing TDs, and Darren Sproles has gone for 116 yards on 26 carries but has no TDs and a long run of just 15-yards.

Jordan Matthews has been the star receiver with a team-leading 344 yards on 22 catches and two TDs. Sproles has been a good dual-back over his career, and is second in receiving yards with 187 on 15 catches with one receiving TD.

The Eagles have seven receiving TDs while having surrendered five on the season, while averaging 11.6 yards per attempt and giving up 12 yards per attempt.
