Oklahoma looks to rebound from a poor start as they open Big 12 play at TCU Saturday.

The Oklahoma Sooners entered the season ranked in the top three and had dreams of returning to the playoffs. Those dreams were over by the middle of September as they were throttled by Houston and Ohio State who are both currently top six teams. The Sooners can still win the Big 12 as they open conference play at the Texas Christian Horned Frogs Saturday night. Oklahoma is 1-2 this season and TCU is 3-1 including 1-0 in conference.

Oklahoma leads the series 10-5 against TCU including 5-1 in Fort Worth. The Sooners won last year in Norman 30-29 when the Horned Frogs went for two and the win instead of tying it up and sending it into overtime.

Oklahoma is coached by Bob Stoops. The Sooners lost at Houston 33-23 and at home against Ohio State 45-24 two weeks ago. The only win for Oklahoma came against Louisiana-Monroe 59-17 at home. Oklahoma was a 2 point underdog against Ohio State and the total was 58.5. Oklahoma is 0-3 ATS and the total is 2-1 this season.

TCU is coached by Gary Patterson. The Horned Frogs have home wins over South Dakota State 59-41 and Iowa State 41-20, plus a road win at SMU 33-3 last Friday. TCU lost at home to Arkansas 41-38 in overtime. The Horned Frogs are 1-3 ATS and the total is 3-1 this season. TCU was a 21.5 point favorite against SMU and the total was 68.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has thrown for 793 yards with 7 touchdowns and two interceptions. He only has 4 rushing yards on 21 attempts mainly because of all the sacks Back-up Austin Kendall played the second half against ULM and threw for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Samaje Perine has 33 carries for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns along with 5 catches for 66 yards. Abdul Adams has 18 carries for 91 yards. Daniel Brooks is questionable with an undisclosed injury.

Quarterback Kenny Hill has thrown for 1,487 yards with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, and also has  166 yards on 33 carries with 6 touchdowns. The transfer from Texas A&M has found a home in Fort Worth but needs to cut down on the interceptions. Foster Sawyer has taken a few snaps as well.

Oklahoma is 6-1 ATS in Big 12 games, 4-1 against teams with winning home records and in October, 25-11 after a straight up loss, 15-7 after allowing more than 200 rushing yards, 1-4 against teams with winning records, 0-4 overall and 0-5 on grass. The under is 5-1 in this series recently.

TCU is 9-1 ATS after gaining more than 450 total yards, 7-1 in October, 16-5 on grass, 14-5 at home, 5-2 after a straight up win, 12-5 after a cover, 9-4 after allowing less than 20 points, 36-17 against teams with losing road records, and 0-5 after passing for more than 280 yards. TCU is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 games against Oklahoma and were the underdog in each of those contests.

Oklahoma has not looked good so far and has had a week off to stew in that fact. This should be a high scoring game as neither defense is very good. I like Oklahoma to rebound in a close game on the road to get back on track.
