Ohio State won 45-24 over Oklahoma in Week 3 and had a bye last week in Week 4. The Buckeyes are ranked No. 2 nationally and will host Big Ten foe Rutgers this week. OSU is 38-point favorites in the game with an over/under of 59 according to college football oddsmakers at 5dimes, and the game will air on the Big Ten network for those in the region.

The stomping of Oklahoma was a big win for Ohio State. Noah Brown tied the OSU record with four TD receptions and Ohio State jumped from No. 3 in the rankings up to No. 2. JT Barrett threw 20 passes at a 70 percent clip for 152 yards with all four of his passing TDs going to Brown. The Buckeyes rushed for another 291 yards, with Mike Weber going for 123 yards on 18 carries, Curtis Samuel for 98 yards and a TD and Barrett rushing for 74 yards on 17 attempts.
Ohio State averaged 6.1 yards per carry on its 48 attempts with two stints over 35-yards by Weber and Samuel. Samuel also caught two passes for 20 yards, and the Buckeyes got seven players in on the pass game with at least one catch. Paris Campbell had a 42-yard kick return and Dontre Wilson had a 20-yard return, while Wilson returned his one punt for no gain. Tyler Durbin hit his 31-yard field goal and all six of his extra points, and punter Cameron Johnston did a superb job. Johnston had five attempts for an average of 50.6 yards with a long attempt of 68-yards.
Weber is a 5’10” 212 pound back from Detroit who has rushed for 136, 92 and 123 yards in OSU’s three games. He has one TD on the year, which came in the 48-3 drubbing of Tulsa. Week 1 he averaged 7.2 yards per carry. Samuel has rushed for a team-high (min 30 carries) 8.1 yards per attempt and has two TDs.
Barrett leads the team in rushing TDs with three, and the QB has rushed for 159 yards, ranking No. 3 on the team in rushing yards. Barrett has thrown 67.1 percent of his 73 passes for completion and has 650 passing yards (216.6 per game) with a passer rating of 184.4. He has 10 TD passes with just one pick on the year.
Rutgers
Rutgers is 2-2, but both of its losses have come to quality opponents. The Scarlet Knights fell Week 1 48-13 to then-No. 14 (and since improved) Washington. Last week Rutgers hung tough with Iowa, but ended up falling 14-7 as Akrum Wadley rushed for a 26-yard TD run and the Hawkeyes rebounded for a must-win. Rutgers QB Chris Laviano threw 13 of 24 for 190 yards with a TD, and Rutgers rushed for 193 yards on 53 attempts (3.6 yards per carry).

Robert Martin had 21 carries for 106 yards, but Rutgers had trouble getting in the end zone. Justin Goodwin also rushed for 74 yards, but Laviano was not effective with just five yards gained on 12 carries. WR Janarion Grant had 98 yards on five catches and Rutgers averaged 14.6 yards per attempt on its 13 receptions with all five players in on the action having at least a 19-yard catch.
Kiy Hester was big defensively with 10 tackles, seven solo and one for loss. Trevor Morris had eight tackles, as did Deonte Roberts. Rutgers had two sacks and three tackles for loss. Special teams were not much of a factor. Michael Cintron punted six times for an average of 40.5 yards, but Rutgers did not return any kicks and had just one punt return for no gain.
