North Carolina has won and covered the number in its last two contests, including a 28-27 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers as seven-point road underdogs last week, but it has lost the statistical battle in six of its last seven affairs.  The Tar Heels rank first in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 19th nationally in averaging 37.4 points per game, which is important to consider when making your Week 10 NCAA football betting picks, while they’ve hit the 40 or above mark in four of eight contests.  North Carolina is 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons.

The Tar Heels are known for going up tempo offensively, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NCAA football betting odds, as they average 77.4 plays per game.  North Carolina has done a great job of causing turnovers this season, as it ranks 12th in the country in that all-important category, while it sits a spot higher than that in terms of picking off opposing signal-callers.

Miami has also gone 2-0 SUATS in its last two games, which includes a 30-6 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies as 2.5-point road favorites on Oct. 23, while out-gaining those two opponents by at least 194 yards.  Through seven games of the season, Hurricanes quarterback Brad Kaaya is one of only 25 players to throw for over 1,800 yards and 17-or-more touchdowns.  He’s a big reason why the offensive unit has tallied 31 plays of 25 yards-or-more.  Miami is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points since the start of the 2012 campaign.

The Hurricanes have allowed 93.5 yards rushing per game in their last two outings, while they’ve compiled a perfect 13-0 SU record in the Al Golden era when forcing three or more turnovers.  Miami also has an explosive running back in Duke Johnson, who ran for a career-high 249 yards last time out, while he’s gone over 100 yards on the ground in 11 career games.

Sports bettors will likely back the Tar Heels due to the underdog going 8-1-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings in this series.
