Trevone Boykin-tcu-2014TCU has won and covered the number in back-to-back games since suffering its only loss of the season to Baylor, as it comes off a 82-27 blowout victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders as 24.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total for the fourth time in five contests.  The Horned Frogs will board an airplane for the first time in 2014, which is important to consider when making your Week 10 college football betting picks, but they’ve compiled a 24-3 SU record when taking the field as a top-10 team under head coach Gary Patterson.  TCU is 4-1 SU and 1-4 ATS as road favorites the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 4-1 in that situation.

The Horned Frogs have won all four of their games when ESPN’s College GameDay is present, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page.  Since 2009, TCU is tied for sixth nationally in most road wins over ranked opponents, while its 26-10 record away from home over that span span is the third-best mark in the country.  Led by dual-threat quarterback Trevone Boykin, the team has the most improved offense in averaging 25.3 points and 228.2 yards more than a season ago.

West Virginia has won four games in a row, including a 34-10 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys as 2.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total in all of those affairs.  The Mountaineers are led offensively by quarterback Clint Trickett, who ranks sixth nationally in averaging 345.4 passing yards per game, while his main target Kevin White is catching 9.9 passes for 130.9 yards a contest.  West Virginia is 5-10 SU and 8-6-1 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons.

The Mountaineers have done a solid job of stopping opponents this season, which is demonstrated in sitting among the top 25 in forcing three-and-outs in 2014.  West Virginia has been great on third down this season on both sides of the ball, which could lead to a second consecutive win in this Big 12 Conference series, as it picked up a 30-27 overtime win as 11-point road underdogs last year.

Sports bettors will likely back the Horned Frogs due to their 6-0 ATS mark in their last six conference games.
