Ohio State has won and covered the number in four consecutive games since its only loss of the season, as it comes off a 56-17 victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as 20.5-point home favorites, while going OVER the betting total for a fifth straight affair.  The Buckeyes have won their last 18 Big Ten Conference regular season games, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 9 NCAA football betting picks, while they’ve managed to score at least 50 points in four consecutive contests for the first time in school history.  Ohio State is 2-0 SUATS as road favorites of 10.5 to 14 points under head coach Urban Meyer.

The Buckeyes are being led offensively by the play of quarterback J.T. Barrett, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA football odds, as he’s thrown for 17 touchdowns and just a single interception in his last four games.  Ohio State is a worthy double-digit favorite due to the fact that Meyer has not lost a game in the month of October since the 2010 campaign.

Penn State has dropped back-to-back games, including an 18-13 setback to the Michigan Wolverines as 2.5-point road underdogs on Oct. 11, while going UNDER the betting total in four of its last five affairs.  The Nittany Lions are 13-16 SU all-time against the Buckeyes, as they look to improve upon their 2-1 mark at Beaver Stadium in James Franklin’s first year at University Park.  Defensively, the team ranks first in the country in allowing just 60.8 rushing yards per game, which is significant when facing a foe that averages 533.8 total yards of offense.

The Nittany Lions have a talented signal-caller in their own in Christian Hackenberg, but he’s thrown just five touchdowns with seven interceptions this season.  The sophomore clearly misses the guidance that former head coach Bill O’Brien provided him, but he left the program to become the front man of the Houston Texans during the offseason.

Sports bettors will likely back the Buckeyes due to the road team covering the number in five of the last seven meetings in this rivalry.
