The Texas A&M Aggies are seeking their first 3-0 start under head coach Kevin Sumlin

Rice is opening up a season with consecutive road games versus top 25 teams for the first time in its history, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page, as it attempts to bounce back from a 48-17 defeat to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as 20.5-point underdogs on Aug. 30.  The Owls are 2-17 in this particular series when the Aggies are ranked.  Rice is 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in its last four contests against Southeastern Conference opponents.

The Owls will send out quarterback Driphus Jackson for his third career start, as he connected on 13 of 24 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown and interception in the season opener.  Rice has dropped 22 straight games versus ranked opponents, and it hasn’t beaten such a foe on the road since 1991.  It’s important to point out that this program has won 15 of its last 20 overall games, with its five losses in that stretch coming against 2013 bowl teams.

Texas A&M will be seeking its first 3-0 start under head coach Kevin Sumlin, which is important to consider when making your Week 3 college football predictions, especially since the school has won 16 consecutive games in this in-state rivalry.  Sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill needs 206 passing yards against the Owls to become the first Aggie to reach 1,000 yards in three games.  Texas A&M is 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS in its last nine games versus Conference USA opponents.

The Aggies have held both South Carolina and Lamar to under 100 rushing yards—marking the first time since the final three games of the 2011 campaign that Texas A&M has held consecutive opponents under that number.  Hill isn’t the only capable player that Sumlin can turn to under center, as heralded recruit Kyle Allen got some action last week—throwing for 122 yards and two touchdowns with an interception.

Sports bettors will likely back the Aggies due to the Owls being 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
