The St. Louis Cardinals (43-36) and Los Angeles Dodgers (44-36) will meet up in a National League matchup Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET

Los Angeles has won seven of its last 10 games, including a 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals as +152 road underdogs Wednesday, while going OVER the betting total of 7.5.  The Dodgers need outfielder Yasiel Puig to deliver offensively, but he hit just .227 in the 2013 NLCS against the Cardinals.  It’s important to point out that the franchise has moved from 9.5 games behind the San Francisco Giants to only three in the NL West standings over the last three weeks.  Los Angeles is 12-13 versus teams with a winning record.

Dodgers starting pitcher Josh Beckett (5-4, 2.28 ERA) has alternated wins and losses over his last four efforts, which includes a 4-2 road victory over the San Diego Padres last time out.  The right-hander is 1-3 with a 2.63 ERA in eight home appearances—serving up eight home runs in 48 combined frames.  In seven lifetime outings versus the Cardinals, Beckett has put together a 2-2 record and 4.68 ERA.

Sports bettors will likely back the Cardinals due to the Dodgers being 21-24 at home with a money line of -100 to -125 since the start of the 2012 campaign.
