San Francisco has dropped two consecutive games, including a 4-3 setback to the Pittsburgh Pirates as +138 road underdogs Wednesday, while pushing up against the betting total of 7.  Giants catcher Buster Posey is expected to be back in the lineup after sitting out yesterday afternoon—hitting .432 with three home runs and seven RBIs over his last 10 contests.  San Francisco is 8-3 versus teams with a winning record, with the UNDER going 7-4 in that situation.

Giants starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong (1-1, 4.60 ERA) has led the club to two consecutive victories, including a 3-1 road win over the Atlanta Braves last time out, as he allowed one run and five hits over six frames.  The right-hander is 1-1 with a 7.94 ERA in three road appearances, with opposing hitters batting .353 against him.  In 21 career games (12 starts) versus the Dodgers, Vogelsong has compiled a 4-3 record and 3.97 ERA, including a 2-1 mark and 4.22 ERA in eight efforts at this ballpark.

Los Angeles went 5-4 on its recently completed road trip, which ended with a 3-2 setback to the Washington Nationals as +131 underdogs Wednesday, while going UNDER the betting total of 6.5.  The Dodgers welcomed back outfielder Yasiel Puig to the lineup after suffering a head injury earlier in the week, as he’s hitting .405 with 12 RBIs over his last 10 games.  Los Angeles is 32-16 as home favorites of -125 to -150 the last two-plus seasons.

Dodgers starting pitcher Josh Beckett (0-1, 3.14 ERA) has watched the club drop four of his first five appearances this season, including a 6-3 road loss to the Miami Marlins last time out, as he surrendered four runs and eight hits over 6.2 innings of work.  The right-hander has allowed seven runs (six earned) and 10 hits over 17 combined frames at home, with opposing hitters batting just .169 against him.  Beckett has gone 0-2 with a 3.63 ERA in three matchups with the Giants as a member of the Blue Crew.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the Giants are 9-2-1 in their last 12 games versus division opponents.
