The Wisconsin Badgers opened up the season 16-0 but have lost 2 straight games. The Badgers look to get back on track as they travel to the rival 14-5 Minnesota Golden Gophers Wednesday night. Wisconsin is in fourth in the conference with a 3-2 record, and Minnesota is tied for fifth with Purdue at 3-3.
Minnesota leads the series 95-88 against Wisconsin, including 62-32 in Minneapolis. Each team won a narrow game at home against the other last season. The Badgers won 45-44 in Madison, and the Gophers won 58-53 in overtime in Minneapolis. Minnesota makes the trip to Madison February 13.
Wisconsin is coached by Bo Ryan. The Badgers have losses at Indiana and at home against Michigan Saturday 77-70. Wisconsin has key wins over St. John’s in Sioux Falls, SD, Florida, at Green Bay, Bowling Green, Oral Roberts, Saint Louis and West Virginia both in a tournament in Cancun, at Virginia, Marquette, Milwaukee, at Northwestern, Iowa, and Illinois. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin are comfortable playing in the mid 70’s but Wisconsin is a better defensive team. Both are coming off disappointing losses over the weekend. The Badgers have played a very difficult schedule and i like them to get back on track with the road win over the border rival Golden Gophers.
