Neither UConn nor Temple has won an AAC game this season, but one will get its first conference win as the two cellar dwellers square off in a game that college football oddsmakers are favoring the home team Temple by seven points.
Temple has won one game on the season, a 33-14 victory over Army on Oct 19. The last three weeks, the Owls have been in striking distance but lost by 10 to SMU, 3 to Rutgers, and 3 to UCF. The defense has been ineffective and has allowed 30.9 points per game this season. Last week, the Knights had 657 total yards and Blake Bortles of UCF threw for 404 yards.
P.J. Walker became the QB of the Owls after the early struggles of Connor Reilly. Walker has thrown a better completion ratio (61.6 percent) and has 15 TDs to six interceptions, and he’s been an upgrade, but the Owls just aren’t a high powered enough team to compensate for the poor defense. Kenneth Harper has 540 yards and nine TDs on the season as the leading rusher for Temple.
UConn has really has little success offensively this season. The Huskies rank 120th in points per game with 16.2 per contest and the team averages just 287.6 yards per game. The Huskies have yet to score more than 21 in any single contest, while also having a horrible defense which allows 35 points per game. The program has a long ways to go to reach respectability in the AAC.
UConn Trends: OVER 4-0 in last 4 road games; 1-7-2 ATS vs teams with losing records; OVER 6-1 in last 7 after allowing more than 450 total yards in previous game.
