In Game One of the 2013 NBA Finals, we saw an unlikely outcome; to some at least. The reigning champion Miami Heat fell to the Spurs, and though LeBron James put up a triple double, he did score a human-like 18 points in the ‘L.’ Will he repeat that performance? Can Tim Duncan continue his assault on Chris Bosh? We’ll look first at the Spurs prop bets and take on LBJ’s Heatles in Part II.

 

Tony Parker 21.5 points, 7.5 assists

In Game 1, Tony Parker had 21 points and 6 assists. NBA Oddsmakers expect much of the same. But with Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole on Parker, will that necessarily be the case? Parker scored 37 and 26 in the final two games of the Memphis series last round, so he can put the ball in the hoop. Assists, however, he has not had more than six of since Game 2 against Memphis.

Tim Duncan 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds

Tim had 20 points and 14 rebounds in Game 1, and he’s essentially playing against a guy who would have been a 4-man and possible 3-man when Duncan entered the league in the late 90s. Fast forward some decade and a half, and Duncan finds himself squaring against a frail Bosh, who while he has been playing well, is now facing a future hall of famer and four time champion. Duncan’s game 1 wasn’t a fluke.

Manu Ginobili 12.5 points, 3 Made Free Throws

Manu Ginobili had 13 in Game 1, but he was also 2-of-6 from two point range, and he got to the line for four attempts, hitting three. The line performance will likely be similar, and I’m inclined to stay away. 12.5 points should be attainable, because Manu is a better shooter than 4-of-11 most nights.
