UCF is going for its third Conference USA tile since joining the league in 2005, as it also looks to snap a three-game losing streak in this series, which includes a 23-21 setback as one-point road underdogs on Nov. 17. The Knights senior class can make history if they prove victorious in this rematch, as it tied for the most victories in program history with a 49-24 win over UAB last week. “A great group of kids and have mostly all graduated,” stated Knights coach George O’Leary. UCF is 0-2 ATS as a road underdog of three or fewer points since 2010.
The Knights were out-gained by a sizable 461-235 margin in the first meeting with the Golden Hurricane, which is a big number to overcome when playing on the road this time around. UCF has a plus-10 turnover margin that ranks 18th nationally, while it sits fifth in college football in averaging just 3.67 penalties per game. The first half is very important for this squad, considering it has outscored opponents by a 243-108 margin in the opening 30 minutes this year.
Tulsa won the West Division for the fourth time in school history and will meet Saturday’s opponent in the title game for the third time, but the first time at H.A. Chapman Stadium. The Golden Hurricane have won 18 of their last 20 conference games, while going 17-7 ATS in that situation over the last two-plus campaigns. Tulsa is 3-0 ATS as a home favorite of three points or less, which makes them an attractive play when looking at the college football betting odds for Week 14.
The Golden Hurricane have won four of six all-time meetings in this series, with their average margin of victory being 14 points in those victories. Tulsa has a tremendous defense, with five players having 200-plus carer tackles, with the unit racking up 45 sacks and 98 tackles-for-loss this season. On the other side of the ball, the team has rushed for 2,833 yards this year, which has been made possible by gaining over 200 yards on the ground in eight affairs.
Sports bettors will likely back the Golden Hurricane due to the home team covering four of the last five meetings in this series, while the Knights are 1-3 ATS on the road when the total is between 49.5 and 56.
