The Los Angeles Lakers will end a six-game homestand on Tuesday night

Brooklyn has won five games in a row, including a 99-90 win over the Sacramento Kings as 3.5-point road favorites on Sunday night, while going UNDER the total for the first time in three contests.  The Nets are being led by point guard Deron Williams on the offensive end, as he’s averaging 18.0 points and 8.0 assists per game, as he notched his third double-double of the season last time out.  “I’m at a loss for words right now.  It’s a good feeling to be on a team that has a good chance of winning every game,” commented Nets forward Andray Blatche.  Brooklyn is 14-4 ATS against Pacific division opponents the last two-plus seasons.

The Nets are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Lakers, which explains the current betting line on the pro basketball odds page.  Brooklyn is also looking to move five games over .500 for the first time since Dec. 30, 2005.  There’s no doubt that the franchise has made strides on the defensive end, holding four of its last five opponents under the century mark, while tallying a perfect 4-0 mark when scoring 100 or more points.

Los Angeles has won four of its last five contests, including a 119-108 victory over the Houston Rockets as seven-point home favorites, as it will end a six-game homestand on Tuesday night.  “The coaching staff is communicating extremely well in terms of things that they want to see us execute,” stated Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.  Mike D’Antoni is expected to make his first appearance on the sideline, as he was hired to coach the talented squad after the firing of Mike Brown earlier in the month.  Los Angeles is 21-30 ATS after scoring 105 or more points since 2010.

The Lakers have four starters averaging in double figures, as they still wait for point guard Steve Nash to return from a leg injury.  Bryant is leading the way in averaging 26.4 points per game, while center Dwight Howard is scoring 20.0 points and grabbing 11.4 rebounds in his first season in Los Angeles.  Tuesday’s game will be the first of a back-to-back set, with the team opening up a two-game road trip in Sacramento on Wednesday.

Sports bettors will likely back the Nets due to the road team being 12-4-2 ATS in the last 18 meetings in this series, while the Lakers are 1-4 ATS versus Eastern Conference foes.
