UCLA has opened up its 2012-13 season with a 3-0 record, which includes a 100-70 blowout win over James Madison as 16-point home favorites on Thursday night. The Bruins are expected to have freshman Shabazz Muhammad in the lineup, who was penalized for accepting travel and lodging during unofficial visits to Duke and North Carolina. “I am excited to play,” commented Muhammed over the weekend. The program will play in New York City for the third consecutive season and the fourth time in the last five. The Hoyas have lost both meetings against their opponent on Monday, as they hope freshman guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera can continue to excel on the offensive end, as he leads the team in scoring with 15.0 points per game. Sophomore forward Greg Whittington is second on the roster in averaging 13.0 points per game and leads the team with 12.0 rebounds.
