Alabama and Arkansas meet in a crucial SEC game Thursday night. Both teams are on the bubble for the NCAA tournament. Arkansas is a slight favorite at home.

The 17-9 Alabama Crimson Tide travel to the 17-10 Arkansas Razorbacks in a crucial game for both teams. Both are out of the SEC title race, with Alabama 6-6 in conference and Arkansas 5-7, well behind first place Kentucky. However, both teams are on the bubble for an NCAA tournament at-large bid. Alabama beat Tennessee at home Saturday 62-50 to snap a two game losing streak. Arkansas has lost 2 games in a row and 4 of the last 5 including 98-68 at home against Florida Saturday. The loss snapped a 17 game home winning streak for the Razorbacks. Arkansas leads the series 28-25 including 15-5 at home. The road team hasn’t won in this series since 2007. Last month in Tuscaloosa, Alabama escaped with a 72-66 win.

Alabama is coached by Anthony Grant. The Crimson Tide has additional wins over Oakland, Maryland, Wichita St, Purdue, VCU, Oklahoma St, Georgia Tech, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi, and Auburn. The home team and favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 in this series, and the over is 5-in the last 7. Arkansas has covered 4 of the last 5 games against Alabama overall and at home. The Crimson Tide are 2-5 ATS overall, and in SEC games, 3-8 as a road underdog, including 2-7 as an underdog of 6.5 points or less, 1-4 as an underdog, and 0-4 as a road underdog of 6.5 points or less. Arkansas is much better at home where they have upsets over Mississippi St, Vanderbilt, and Michigan. Alabama has struggled on the road. I like Arkansas to win at home.
