Team Needs
Cornerback: The Giants lost Will Allen to the Dolphins but did sign Jason Bell from the Texans, hardly a fair exchange as Bell is a backup at best. Will Peterson is often injured and more of a number 2, picking up a stud in the first round to solidify the secondary seems logical.
Wide Receiver: New York made a great pickup last year grabbing Plaxico Burress from Pittsburgh. He gave Eli Manning a very good #1 target to throw at in 2005. Amani Toomer is getting a little older, and Jamaar Taylor and Tim Carter are not top 2 material.
Linebacker: New York line backer Carlos Emmons is coming off a season ending pectoral injury. The Giants at the time of publish have not resigned Nick Greisen who is an unrestricted free agent and either way depth is needed at the position.
Summary
The Giants will probably use the 25th pick to solve their biggest issue the cornerback position. Antonio Cromartie from Florida State, Jimmy Williams from Virginia Tech, Kelly Jennings from Miami, Tye Hill from Clemson, and Fresno State corner Richard Marshall are all likely candidates. Depending on who is left and who the Giants favor is who they will grab as all 4 offer equal abilities.
If they don't take a corner back with their 1st round selection the Giants will probably target a stud wideout like Miami's Sinorice Moss or Ohio States Santonio Holmes. They would than look for a corner like Florida's Dee Webb with their second round pick.
