Coach: Bobby Johnson (4th year at Vanderbilt)
Team Name: Commodores
2004 Record: 2-9
2004 SEC Conference Record 1-7
2004 ATS Record: 5-5
Returning Starters: 11
Could this be the season Vanderbilt breaks the streak of 22 consecutive losing seasons? Our prediction is no, we actually thought they had a shot at a winning season in 2004 but the Commodores disappointed us again. They were competitive though, losing 5 games by 5 points or less, and also had double digit leads on the likes of Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Rutgers, games they all eventually choked away. The talent level is not much different than 2004 squad and with 5 winnable games on the schedule, improvement of 2004's 2-9 record is expected. As for a winning season in 2005, doubtful, but if the team can hold the lead and squeak out the close games, anything is possible.
