In the past 2 seasons, Oklahoma has played in both national championship games losing to LSU in 2003 and USC in 2004. While we don’t expect the Sooners to reach the Rose Bowl in 2005 Oklahoma will once again be a force to be reckoned with.

Oklahoma will return the fewest starters in the Big 12 which includes losing ten players to the NFL draft; no school had more draft picks than the Sooners. A lot of talent will be replaced with another top 5 recruiting class from Stoops and his gang. The 2006 football team should be phenomenal.

The two most important keys for a big season; Oklahoma will need to have a QB emerge, and Peterson’s shoulder must be healthy if the Sooners expect to enjoy as much success as in years past.

Oklahoma is less talented than the Longhorns but the mental edge they hold could get them their 6 straight win over Texas. It is expected that Oklahoma will drop off due to the immense loss of talent, but a major bowl game and even possibly an undefeated season is feasible.
