Coach: Larry Coker (5th year at Miami)
Team Name: Hurricanes
2004 Record: 9-3
2004 ACC Conference Record 5-3
2004 ATS Record: 7-5
Returning Starters: 13
Miami has taken a step back in the wins department each season after winning the national championship in 2001. Last year Miami missed out on the BCS for the first time in 5 years. With 13 starters returning, 9 on defense, the Hurricanes have the ability to reverse that trend. The offense should improve week after week after first year starter Kyle Wright gets more comfortable running the show while the defense and special teams will be outstanding as usual. If Miami can get by Florida St. in the first game of the season, they will more than likely head into Blacksburg 8-0 with the ACC Coastal Division Title on the line. With all that momentum going for them, the Hurricanes would be capable of upsetting the Hokies, and returning back to the BCS for the fifth time in six years.
