Lead by star QB Drew Tate, Iowa finished the season rolling off 8 wins in a row which included a victory over LSU in the Capital One Bowl. This year the offense should be even better with the progression of Tate. On defense the Hawkeyes lost their whole starting defensive line including 2 All Americans, but Iowa has had success in reloading in years past. The back 7 on defense will be exceptional, and should be able to make up for the inexperience of the front line. We will ultimately find out how good they are when they visit Columbus in late September. A win over the Buckeyes could go a long way and lead to a dream season for the Hawkeyes. If it wasn't for the brutal schedule, Iowa might just be the favorite for the Big 10 title. Even so this team is still capable of making a serious run at winning the Big Ten in 2005.
