Coach: Gary Barnett (7th year at Colorado)
Team Name: Buffaloes
2004 Record: 8-5
2004 Big 12 Conference Record 4-4
2004 ATS Record: 7-5-1
Returning Starters: 17
Last year the Buffaloes were lucky to even have a share of
the North title. In addition to Iowa St. choking in their final
game, there were several games it is hard to envision Colorado
winning after looking at the game stats. For the season the
Buffaloes were out gained and outscored by their opponents.
A big reason for the Buffaloes success was their outstanding
special teams and red zone defense. If Colorado expects to claim
the North title in 2005 offensive and defensive output will
need to improve from 85th and 95th in the country. They are
a veteran laden ball club who returns 17 starters to a wide
open race, so we give them an excellent shot to defend their
Big 12 north title. Overall 6-7 wins and a return trip to a
bowl game.
