Coach: Tommy Bowden (7th year at Clemson)
Team Name: Tigers
2004 Record: 6-5
2004 ACC Conference Record 4-4
2004 ATS Record: 4-7
Returning Starters: 13
Like we mentioned in the main preview page, Clemson has brand new coordinators on both offense and defense. How quickly the offense, lead by veteran QB Charlie Whitehurst, picks up the new scheme will determine how Clemson fares. The defense is fast and the back 7 are rock-solid, but the front 4 is just okay lacking the big run stuffer. It is tough to tell what you type of team is going to show up on a week to week basis with Clemson, as in the past 2 years the Tigers have beaten heavyweights like FSU, Miami, and Tennessee, but have also lost to poor teams like Duke. The Tigers do have talent but a difficult schedule will ultimately be their undoing.
