Coach: Mike Stoops (2nd year at Arizona)
Team Name: Wildcats
2004 Record: 3-8
2004 Pac 10 Conference Record 2-6
2004 ATS Record: 4-6
Returning Starters: 14
Although the Wildcats only posted a 3-8 record last year, there were tremendous strides made for this program. The offense was ranked second to last in scoring among the 117 schools in the division 1-A, but the defense improved on its scoring average by almost 11 points. Defense was the teams strength in 2004, and the 2005 squad be even better and will keep them competitive in ball games. Although the defense is capable, having an anemic offense and playing against teams in the high scoring PAC 10 conference will be a problem. Bottom line is Arizona will be even more improved this year but lacks overall depth and knack to win this season in the PAC 10. The good news is Arizona is on the upswing and will no longer be an easy out for conference foes. We are calling for another 3 win season and ninth place in the conference for the Cats.
