Coach: Jeff Jagodzinski (1st year at Boston College)
Team Name: Eagles
2006 Overall Record: 10-3
Returning Starters: 16

The Boston College Eagles (10- 3 overall, 5- 3 ACC) tied for second in the ACC Atlantic and beat Navy 25- 24 in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. The Eagles have been on a bowl win streak since 1999 and are looking to move up the bowl feeding chain.

The Boston College passing game was healthy as QB Matt Ryan (58.3% COMP, 2,942 YDs, 15 TDs, 10 INTs) proved to be a capable leader. Last year's performance by Ryan was courageous as he played the final seven games with a broken left foot. He's smart, understands the team's playbook and handles pressure well. Senior WR Kevin Challenger (47 REC, 543 YDs, 11.6 AVG, 5 TDs) is a top performer and junior WR Brandon Robinson (36 REC, 490 YDs, 13.6 AVG, 1 TD) looks to have a breakout year. The rushing game will feature two seniors—L.V. Whitworth (174 CAR, 791 YDs, 4.5 AVG, 4 TDs) and Andre Callender (146 CAR, 633 YDs, 4.3 AVG, 3 TDs). The offensive line has been depleted and needs some new guys to step-up.

BC was ranked 14th nationally on "D", holding opponents to 15.7 PPG. The LB unit is big, speedy and dominant. Senior Jolonn Dunbar (92 tackles, 50 solo) returns as the club's leading tackler. Senior WLB Brian Toal, who's recovering from shoulder surgery, is a big play guy. The frontline is exceptional against the run and returns all four starters. In the secondary look for senior corner DeJaun Tribble (7 INTs) to be a standout performer. There were problems with this unit last season. The Eagles need someone to take command of the strong safety position.

With swing games against Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Florida State and Miami, BC has their work cut out for them. Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech will both be tough to beat. The good news for the team is they have one of the most capable QBs in the conference. That will go a long way to keeping this team on target. Depending on how the ball bounces they could take the ACC or finish as low as 6th. With that late 6 game murders row schedule we will call for a 5th place finish.
